Engineering Technician (Printed Wiring Boards)

Customers include the worlds militaries as well as system integrators. Sensis Corporation is currently seeking an Engineering Technician for a 3-6 month duration to join one of our radar teams. Responsibilities include schematic capture, layout and routing of digital and analog based Printed Wiring Boards (PWBs), assemble, debug, and test of prototype hardware.Activities:- Review applicable contract documentation to determine any PWB layout requirements (EMI, silkscreen marking, etc.).- Develop PWB outlines for several designs.- Build decals according to Sensis process.- Perform PWB layout task with and without assistance from the responsible digital/analog design engineer.- Route PWB design using good analog and digital design guidelines.- Assembly of prototype boards, wire harnesses, and Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) hardware.- Participate in customer related review preparation and presentation activities.- Work with mechanical department to create/update article drawings.- Work with production department or other on fabrication issues.Team Related Activities:- Develop, review, and suggest common development tools that would make the team operate more efficiently.- Participate in review of both digital and analog PWB development phases.- Develop layout and routing procedures for future group use. Education Required:Minimum Associates degreeExperience Required:2 years experience in digital and analog board layout and routingExpertise Required:- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Prior layout and routing experience using PADS-PCB layout and route software tool.- Prior layout experience in determining stack-up, impedance control, hole/via size, etc.- Prior analog signal, high speed signal, and differential pair routing experience.- Working with PWBs that utilize multiple and/or split planes.- Solder certificationDesired Skills:- Prior layout experience designed for EMI concerns a plus.- Prior radar systems experience a plus.Sensis provides an excellent working environment offering advancement and professional growth opportunities, competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package.
