Epidemiologist - Scientist

Job Summary:This position is assigned to assist in the conduct, analysis, and reporting of longitudinal studies supporting Medical Operations at the Johnson Space Center. The successful candidate will be responsible to review literature, analyze data, prepare tables and graphs, and develop reports and papers for projects assigned to the Epidemiology Section. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Complete comprehensive literature reviews including the identification and location of relevant publications and the writing of critical summaries of the “body of science knowledge” with bibliographic citations Extract medical data from hard copy records Verify quality control and quality assurance of data during data analyses Perform database backups and security procedures as required Write articles for the LSAH newsletter Download and prepare data for analyses, use SAS and other statistical programs to complete analyses, prepare graphs and tables for reports Draft and edit reports and papers and manage long term progression of papers Prepare presentations for poster sessions, publications, and NASA reports Provide weekly status reports of work activities to Epidemiology sections supervisor Responsible for compliance with Safety, health and Environmental plan; must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the Company’s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel. Responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies and procedures Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance level as determined by the Company Knowledge, Skills & Abilities  This position requires a MS or MPH in Epidemiology, Biostatistics or related field, plus 4 years experience; or a PhD with 0-2 years experience in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Informatics or related field Prior experience must have been sufficient to develop the knowledge and skills required to complete comprehensive literature reviews, analyze data using SAS, and to prepare graph and tables for reports.
