Experienced Supplier Quality Engineer

LOCATION: BURLINGTON, MA 01803 Job Description: Provide Supplier Quality Engineering support to RTSC programs with minimal direction. Work within a multi-functional team that is focused on the assessment and continuous improvement related to Supplier Quality. Primary responsibilities include application of statistical analysis, first article inspections, supplier assessments, defect data analysis and supplier quality issue resolution. Additional responsibilities include tracking, analyzing and reporting metrics variances. Possess the skills to work through difficult situations with internal & external customers and achieve the most optimum conclusion. The Supplier Quality Engineer will support Cross Business teams (CBT) in process improvement activities using Raytheon Six Sigma quality tools. The applicant should possess strong Quality data extraction and analysis skills. The Supplier Quality Engineer will interface with SCM, Engineering, Program Management and Suppliers on a daily basis to determine and define issues and coordinate action plans for resolution. The Supplier Engineer should clearly understand /interpret root cause, containment and corrective actions. Use closed loop corrective action methodology’s to issue, review, and approve corrective action requests, and conduct follow-up on corrective actions. Required Skills: · Experience in working with a wide variety of suppliers through the assessment of quality management systems and products · Quality experience with a solid background in supplier quality and supply chain management · Experience with supplier management, measurement tools, processes, and flow down requirements · Demonstrated expertise in applying root cause analysis techniques and tools, possessing strong problem solving skills · Experience in developing / participating in supplier capability and capacity assessments · Strong verbal and presentation skills for interaction at various levels of management at the suppliers and within the organization · Report writing, technical white papers, power point presentations, and leading problem solving efforts are all required skills · Working knowledge of Quality Systems AS9100/ISO9001, statistical analysis and tools, mission assurance, configuration management, and Quality planning · Ability to work with engineers and other technical problem solvers to develop practical solutions. Applicant must be able to credibly resolve technical issues with respect to processes, systems, and hardware deliverables with Engineering, Supply Chain and the Supplier · Ability to facilitate problem resolution for supplier related issues. · Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team · Ability to travel · Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance Desired Skills: · Ability to interpret and implement defense related contractual and regulatory requirements. · Six Sigma, ASQ Certifications a plus · Work experience in the defense production business · Supply Chain Management experience · ISO system experience · Sourcing experience · Existing Secret Clearance Required Education (including Major): BS Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or closely related field.
