We currently have an opening for an Export Compliance Officer position
at our headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The purpose of this position is to ensure compliance with U.S. export
and import laws and regulations for the Eclipse business.
Responsibilities include:
# Assigning proper export jurisdiction classifications for goods and
technology, including ECCN#s and Schedule B numbers, and monitoring
technology and components for appropriate export and
re-export controls
# Screening of parties, destinations and end-uses
# Obtaining export licenses from the Commerce Department
# Implementing export control policies and procedures and facilitating
necessary process improvements to prevent violations of export

# Delivering training to ensure compliance
# Advising and counseling key clients on export control issues,
including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, while prudently and
practically resolving business issues
# Conducting internal compliance reviews and implementing necessary
compliance improvement plans
# Ensuring proper record-keeping and reporting
# Monitoring activities of agents, brokers and freight forwarders
# Ensuring import compliance
# Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with any trade control program
or additions to the regulations
# Handling other non-export related matters as assigned
The position will report to the Vice President & General Counsel.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
# Advanced Degree and minimum 5-7 years of experience in export control
(especially EAR); or
# Law degree and minimum of one year of industry experience in export
control (especially EAR)
Additional Qualifications
# Broad functional knowledge of U.S. Export Administration Regulations
(EAR)
# Experience in processing Commerce Department export license
applications
# Experience in processing State Department export license applications
and familiarity with International Traffic in Arms regulations
# Experience providing training and advice on export laws and
regulations
# Proactive, well-organized, and motivated for high-level performance
# Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and
ability to work with minimal supervision
