Field Engineer II / Overseas On A Tropical Island

Location:  Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands

Responsibilities: The Field Engineer will provide operations and maintenance support for radar hardware systems.  The Field Engineer will maintain, troubleshoot and repair various pieces of commercial and custom hardware.  The Field Engineer will maintain maintenance schedules in a database, and will maintain spare parts, equipment inventory and provide technical documentation on projects.  The Field Engineer will also perform routine preventive maintenance procedures and run system diagnostic software, install equipment, and provide technical input about system configuration and performance.

Position Status:  Unaccompanied – This full-time position has a two year minimum commitment with unaccompanied status.  Unaccompanied status means that no dependents or pets are authorized.

Security Clearance:  Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Required Skills:  Minimum requirements for this position include a High School Diploma and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of career experience in a related field.  The ability to direct craftsmen and technicians is required.  Familiarity of standard mechanical functions of equipment including but not limited to pumps, motors, and structural components is required.  The ability to read schematic diagrams is required.  The ability to perform improvement and modernization (I&M) projects involving mechanical, servos, and antenna subsystems is required.  The ability to obtain on-site climber II certification and the ability to work at moderate heights is required. A safety conscious demeanor is required.  Experience with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.  Experience with network analyzers, receivers and high power is required.

Desired Skills:  An AS in Electronics is desired.  Experience working with oscilloscopes, frequency analyzers is desired.  Experience with AutoCAD is desired.  Experience in Project Management is desired. 

You and authorized dependents, if any, traveling to Kwajalein are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to departure.  You and your dependents must maintain a current passport during your stay on the island.
