Financial Analyst - Program Control

Defense & Security Systems:Sensis Defense & Security Systems division increases tactical capabilities through advanced radar detection and surveillance integration products. Customers include the worlds militaries as well as system integrators. Sensis is currently looking for a Financial Analyst to join the finance organization in their Air Traffic Systems (ATS) division in Syracuse, NY.This individual will be responsible for providing program control support to numerous government contracts as well as other financial analyst duties.These responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Project accounting responsibilities including project setup, reviewing and uploading budgets, revenue recognition, cash flow, product ship dates, status of aged, unbilled and unearned receivable balances, expenditure tracking, monthly closing information, and EAC change managementInvolved in preparing P&L and cash flow forecasts. This includes the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long range planningInteract with program managers regarding their program budgets. Review Microsoft Project schedule output for completeness and discrepancies versus established budget Develop and maintain program structures in Microframe Project Manager (MPM)Import Baselines and Updates from MS Project into MPMMeasure program progress and provide insightful analysis to program teamPrepare financial reporting package for Program Management Reviews (PMR)Perform variance analysis against program baseline and assist team with root cause and corrective action analysisPrepare monthly Contract Performance Reports (CPR) and issue to customerReconcile cost accounts as necessaryProvide guidance on Earned Value principles to program team as necessaryProvide proposal costing support. This may include customizing MS Excel costing templates, preparing the pricing summary sheet including work-breakdown structure (WBS) mapping, providing historical costing data, and general finance support to the proposal managerGenerate complex excel models, charts and analysis as neededFinance liaison between Corporate Finance and Business Area program managers and leads. Ad hoc reporting and analysis Education Required:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting with 3-5 years of experienceRequired Skills: 3-5 years experience in a financial analyst or program control positionEarned Value Management System experience preferred with working knowledge of Microframe Program Manager (MPM) or other EVMS reporting tool Government contract accounting background desired including familiarity with FAR & CAS principlesStrong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-taskExpert skills with MS Excel spreadsheets & graphing.
