Financial Analyst – Project Costing – Corona, CA:

Our Aerospace company is headquartered in Corona, CA and is currently comprised of three businesses that are leaders in the design, development and manufacture of aircraft components and sub-systems, including landing gear, fluid controls and high performance switches. 

We specialize in the design, development, manufacture and repair of commercial and military fluidic controls including motor operated valves, solenoid operated valves, check valves, relief valves, hand valves, regulators and specialty gages and manifolds.  The Fluid Controls Systems business has the capability to provide fluidic control solutions including valves, actuation and couplings for all aerospace and defense fluid management requirements.  The Landing Gear Systems business also provides engineering, manufacturing and fabrication/repair services for aircraft and helicopter landing gear.

Our group has annual global sales of over $100 million.  We are part of a publicly-held corporation headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts.

 

BASIC FUNCTION: The Financial Analyst - Project Costing works closely with Program Management to manage the transactional cost accounting activities related to military projects in accordance with US GAAP, DCAA and SOX compliances for our operation.

 

REPORTING STRUCTURE AND KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

The Financial Analyst - Project Costing ensures the collection, compilation, and reporting of cost data accurately in compliance with DCAA standards. 

·  Reports To:  Controller, CAI Operation

·  Direct Reports:  None

·  Key Internal Partners:  Program Manager; Manufacturing Engineering; Operation Management; Design Engineering

·  Customers:  CAI Engineering teams, Operation Management, Financial and SOX auditors, government auditors

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Develops actual cost tracking system in compliance with DCAA standard

·  Manages cost accounting transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and OUR COMPANY Costing Policies and Procedures

·  Develops direct, indirect rates and providing cost proposal effort for government contract bidding

·  Prepares actual versus proposed contract cost analysis and billings (government and commercial) and coordinates with Program Management to ensure timeliness and correctness

·  Prepares Estimate-to-completion and Estimate-at-completion schedules and other DCAA forms

·  Develops direct, indirect rates and providing cost proposal effort for government contract bidding

·  Assists the audit with Defense Contract Administration Agency (DCAA), and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)

·  Partners with Program Manager to update project costs regularly to ensure project costs stay within budget

·  Assists Controller in developing financial forecasts, budgets, and operating plans

·  Assists in the evaluation and preparation of ERP upgrade for 2009

·  Participates and provide financial support in Kaizen and other LEAN initiatives

Provides other duties as needed and assigned.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

·  Ensures the collection and compilation of financial data meet DCAA audit requirements

·  Develops financial statements for military projects

Participates in at least 2 Kaizen events

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES

Education:  BA in Accounting from accredited Universities or +5 years of Cost Accounting experience in a military contract environment

Experience:  +5 years of Cost Accounting experience in an actual and job-shop costing environment; government accounting or DCAA accounting experience preferred
