Job Category: IT/Software Development Job Requisition Number: Q11128 GCCS System Engineer with Global Command & Control System expertise to support GCCS USPACOM. Performs system installations, upgrades, and maintenance on the Solaris Operating System. Performs all system and oracle administration efforts Enterprise 5500 and Enterprise 450, Enterprise 250, Sunfire 280, and SunFire 480. Required technical expertise includes writing Born, Korn, C shell scripts, and correcting faulty fielded system scripts. Perform automatic updates on SUN and Windows workstations; script to fix network file dependencies; script to generate and change all workstations EPROM and system files, generate report of completed actions; and automating miscellaneous recurring procedures. Possess in-depth knowledge on network, NIS+, NFS, DNS, and disk storage systems. Capable in configuring stripped mirrored, and raid systems on Solaris A1000, A5200, and StorEdge 3510 disk systems using the Volume Manager and RM6 software. Troubleshoot and investigated system failures to resolve system problems. Recommends and plan acquisitions, implement and validate new software/hardware components, and redesigned software/hardware configurations to enhance efficiency and optimize performance. Works directly with users of data to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage. Responsible for implementing back up procedures. Must Have the Following: U.S. Citizen. Sun Servers and Windows Servers and workstation. Solaris and Windows Server/Client software. Knowledgeable on Microsoft Network essentials. 2+ Years with BS or 0+ Years with MS Experience in supporting Client/Server Applications. Model and understand key business process within an organization and the impact technology may have on these business process. Work to build a coalition within the organization that will formulate the architecture and manage the architectural development process/project.Prefer to Have the Following: Unix fundamentals and scripting and Windows Server support. Solaris Fault Analysis, Solaris Sys Admin I and/or II work experience of a minimum of 2 years. Windows Sys Administration support function with work experience of a minimum of 2 years. Solaris System Administration I or II certified, MS certification, or Network + certification.
