GMD Embedded Test Chief Engineer 6 Position Description Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop test, and verify highly-complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions for the Embedded Test product within GMD. Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces involved GMD Embedded Test. Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Leads testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Leads, develops, designs and conducts research that results in new requirements management methodologies or result in unique approaches that mitigate assessment/review findings. Works independently. This chief engineer position will report to the GMD Embedded Test senior manager. Perform technical presentations to internal and external audiences. Responsible for Embedded Test technical problem resolution. Requires applicable knowledge and capability to review and approve technical designs. This position requires demonstrated technology knowledge in the following areas: missiles; RADAR; IR; communication systems; TATL-J and JREA-P protocols; Java, Fortran, C, and C++ languages; data analysis tools; modeling and simulation. Knowledge of GMD components is desired. Highly advanced, expert knowledge of the interaction between departments/ disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business). [ + ] Tech Verification/Validation Highly advanced, expert knowledge in technical data verification and validation practices (e.g., Technical review of Engineering Data, Laboratory simulation, or actual procedure demonstration). Consults within the industry on highly advanced and strategic technical ideas and solutions. [ + ] Test Program Design Highly advanced, expert knowledge of test program design (e.g., design of experiments, test plan development, validation). Education and/or Experience Typically 20 years' experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 18 years' experience or a PhD degree with a minimum of 15 years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Other Job related information OTHER: Position requires US Citizenship.
