GUI Software Engineer II

LOCATION: FALLS CHURCH, VA 22040 Job Description: The candidate will be responsible for analysis, design, programming, software integration, documentation, and unit testing of the GUI functionalities of a Web based Situational Awareness application. Under supervision the candidate will review and analyze programming specifications as well as identify and modify various system modules and classes for reusability benefits. The candidate will translate detailed design specifications into J2EE code. The candidate will also be responsible to test, debug and refine the GUI code in order to produce the required product. Education: BA or BS preferred or equivalent of 8 years of IT experience. Required Skills: · Minimum of 4-6 years experience with Java programming. · Must have experience with GUI design, development, and unit testing. · Must have experience with Web based application development, preferably using Backbase and Weblogic Application Server. · Must have experience with Hibernate or iBATIS. · Must have experience with Weblogic Application Server and Apache Tomcat. · Must have experience with front-end development using JavaScript, JSP, AJAX, HTML, and XML. · Must have experience developing software in the UNIX environment. · Must be able to effectively convey information and work well in a structured environment with other team members. · Must be able to obtain an interim DoD Secret Clearance. Desired Skills: · Experience with GIS, preferably ESRI. · Experience with Backbase AJAX library/environment. · Experience with backend development using J2EE, Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), and JDBC. · Experience with Java Server Faces (JSF). · Experience with Struts or the Model-View-Controller (MVC) Architecture. · Experience with PL/SQL, Oracle or other relational database (e.g., Sybase or Informix). · COTS/GOTS integration experience. · Understanding of networking concepts and network management systems. · Active DOD Secret Clearance.
