Ground Vibration Test Structural Engineer

LOCATION: HUNTSVILLE, AL 35801 Job Description: Perform analyzes in support of the design and design verification of Ground Vibration Test support structures and equipment for ARES I & V Launch Vehicle structures. Independently plan, schedule and perform computations/analyzes, prepare and make presentations, and document results in technical reports. Analyze complex features and apply principles and practices of structural analysis, or devise new approaches in problem solutions. Thoroughly review all results from assigned tasks and determine if outputs are complete, correct, integrated with project objectives, and adequately documented. Follow existing processes and procedures and recommend process improvements where appropriate. Participate in process improvement teams and standing committees. Required Skills: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline and 4-6 years relavant experience. Working knowledge of structural analysis using classical and finite element methods is required. Working experience with finite element modeling and analysis codes such as FEMAP, PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, and ABAQUS is required. U.S. Citizenship is required.
