Job Description Guidance Systems Engineer Our client is currently seeking a dynamic Guidance Systems Engineer to join their team of professionals.Responsibilities: You will be expected to help grow and implement our Guidance Electronics Unit (GEU) product line. This will include proposal preparation and strategic planning inputs. You will provide input to capital and IRAD budgets and leverage these investments to build our in-house capability while conducting make / buy analyses and recommendations. You will serve as the primary focal point for coordination with other OTS sites for joint Affordable Precision Munitions development programs (currently ACTP, SHARK, BEGK, and PERM). This role is planned to grow to that of a Product Line Manager (PLM) where specific responsibility and authority will be provided to meet top level goals of establishing Bay Area as the lead for Guidance System Integration for the family of Affordable Precision Munitions to include seekers, IMU, Autopilot implementation, and controls implementation. This includes Bay Area having full capability for GEU modeling, simulation, and hardware integration; and You will provide systems analysis for projectile guidance and actuator systems from concept through final delivery to customer, analysis of test data, and overseeing testing, including preparation and presentation of design review material to customers and peers. As a senior member of the engineering department, participate in the establishing departmental policy and creation of departmental procedures. You will provide overall project engineering using a general understanding of all engineering disciplines with the ability to allocate system requirements to mechanical, electrical, and software requirements. You will define sub-system and system test requirements derived from customer specifications as well as internal test procedures. You will assist in the establishment of milestone schedules for detailed tasks and perform to the program schedules established by program managers.Qualifications:BS degree plus 10-15 years experience in guidance system design. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Technical writing of reports and proposals. Ability to obtain DoD secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship required.Preferred Qualifications:Experience electromechanical servo systems.
