Hybrid Assembly Technician

Teledyne Judson Technologies manufactures high performance infrared detectors utilizing a wide variety of materials such as Mercury Cadmium Telluride (HgCdTe), Indium Antimonide (InSb), and Indium Gallium Arsenide (InGaAs), as well as tactical dewar and cooler assemblies and other specialized standard products for military, space, industrial and scientific applications. The individual in this position will assemble high reliability, complex, and diversified products to specification requirements using documents and/or drawings. Position is located in Montgomeryville, PA.

Primary Responsibilities

Experience with manual die attach of delicate microchips (avg size 1 mm) Familiar with a variety of conductive and non-conductive epoxies Performs precision alignment of components using epoxy adhesives under a microscope and/or alignment equipment Experience manually handling fine wire (1 – 2 mil diameter) Manual ultrasonic ball wirebonding 1 mil gold wire Experience helpful but not required with precision alignment equipment Performs bench processes to complete assemblies and/or subassemblies using hand tools and electronic tooling Manually mounts delicate microchips into packages Completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedule Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor Maintains log of material handled for tracing purposes Keeps work area, equipment and materials clean, organized and properly identified

Skills/Experience

Three to five years related experience in wire bonding, die bonding, soldering and microscope use Ability to use coordinate measuring machine (specifically Quadra chek) Reads and understands assembly drawings, sketches and wiring diagrams. Possesses precision manual dexterity and coordination Follows written and verbal instructions accurately Good communication skills

Education High School diploma or equivalent. Science emphasis preferred.
