Argon ST is currently searching for a Import/Export Compliance Specialist to work out of our Fairfax, VA, headquarters building.



Position Description
The Export/Import Compliance Specialist will be responsible to the Export/Import Compliance Manager for ITAR and EAR compliance to ensure the required USG approvals are obtained to support International marketing and program initiatives. Duties include the preparation of export license applications and agreements for the export of technical data, hardware, and services and coordination of imports in accordance with company policy and U.S. Government laws and regulations. The successful candidate will provide support to shipping departments with appropriate invoice and carnet documentation to support international shipping of hardware and software, coordinate import of unclassified and classified hardware with foreign parties to ensure proper customs paperwork is included and shipment is authorized under proper license exemptions, provide guidance and assistance to the Director of Contracts regarding the requirements and interpretation of U.S. export regulations and assures compliance and implementation of applicable regulations.
 
Primary and essential responsibilities:
• Prepares export licenses, Technical Assistance Agreements, Temporary Admission (ATA) Carnets, import certificates and miscellaneous correspondence to the Departments of State, Defense, and Commerce.
• Provides company and/or government agencies required assistance or information needed during the review of license applications.
• Coordinates with appropriate program personnel to review provisos on licenses and agreements to ensure contract and customer requirements can be met by the license or agreement.
• Provides assistance to Argon ST personnel on export related questions.
• Assists in the review and approval of presentations, briefings, documents and other information provided to foreign persons for compliance with licenses and regulations prior to release outside the company.
• Establish and maintain Argon ST company export/import compliance policy and procedures program.
• Perform export training to all new employees, current employees and special programs.
• Maintains export related record keeping functions and files.
• Provides compliance reports to senior management.

Basic Qualifications
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must hold a bachelors degree
• Minimum 6 years work experience with export/import licensing and compliance or related experience.

Other Requirements
• Working knowledge of ITAR and EAR procedures, Customs and Foreign Assets Control Regulations
• Must have advanced knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent communications skills both written and oral
• Knowledge of Argon ST product lines, or DOD C5ISR products, a plus
