Information Assurance Specialist- Two Positions

 

Education:  BS or MBA, plus 5 years /Computer Science or equivalent

 

 

Assignment: 

 

Our client requires the services of an Information Assurance Specialist to lead the development of accreditation of several unique classified systems under DIACAP regulations. The systems consist of multiple compute elements utilizing a variety of operating systems (LINUX, Solaris, IRIX, and Windows) connected via a variety of networks, sometimes to remote locations. The systems utilize a number of modern data protection tools such as firewalls, encryption devices and one-way connections.

 

The IA specialist will work with hardware and software engineers to test and mitigate system vulnerabilities and to develop rationale for waivers where normal IA controls cannot be applied due to system technical requirements. The specialist will interact with the client’s security office to develop internal system accreditation and security controls within NISPOM regulations and with outside government agencies to provide information supporting accreditation for systems under DIACAP regulations. Post accreditation the specialist will oversee maintenance of the security posture of these systems by scanning, auditing and updating patches as necessary or by supervising ISSOs undertaking these tasks.

 

Special Talents: 

 

The IA Specialist will have at least a BS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent field. The IA Specialist will have at least five years experience in computer systems administration and computer systems security. Experience with modern data networks and a security concept is required. The IA Specialist must have training and experience in DIACAP Accreditations (DoD 8500.1, 8500.2 or the equivalent services implementations). Experience with DITSCAP would be valuable. A SECRET clearance will be required.
