Information Security Specialist

REMEC Defense & Space, Inc. a leading provider of RF and microwave products for the defense and space industry has the following job position available:

 

Security Specialist (Asst FSO and Information Security):  Will act as the Assistant to the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and be responsible for administering, implementing and managing security in the DoD/project security arenas.  Primary responsibility will be as the Information Security Systems Manager (ISSM) and principal point of contact for multiple classified networks and IS systems.  Will coordinate and conduct technical security testing, and audits; participate in and provide guidance in the design and implementation of appropriate operational and technical security controls and policies.  Asst. FSO duties will include management or technical support in specific area(s) within the security department including personnel security, education, physical security, material control and DD254 management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

·  Good written and verbal communication skills: both formal and informal.

·  Ability to prepare specialized reports and multi-task with good problem solving skills.

·  Good judgment and discretion regarding sensitive security/personnel information

·  Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products, and excellent computer skills.

·  Knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), JAFAN and exposure to SAR/SAP environment highly desired.

·  Secret security clearance must be attained and maintained while in the position.

 

EDUCATION

·  Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.  Associates degree with applicable Computer Science and Security Training may be substituted in some cases.

 

JOB EXPERIENCE

·  3 years in or directly related to the line of work of the position.

·  The applicant must demonstrate a solid understanding of the technical aspects of information systems security, network operations and the ability to balance security and operational requirements.
