Information System Security Officer

A senior-level technical security expert, the Information System Security Officer is a fully qualified principal contributor who applies an advanced knowledge of information security services/analysis concepts, practices and procedures. Candidate will have experience working on the most complex of assignments and perform a comprehensive range of information security services operations activities. The candidate routinely works under demanding deadlines and often handles heavy workloads, operating with only limited supervision; errors at this level can cause significant delay, expense and/or disruption.

Provides functional guidance to less experienced staff, provides functional and technical expertise to formulate information security services scope and objectives, develops and/or modifies procedures to solve problems.

This person will interface regularly with client CISO and company Vice President and associated directors. Assignments are in technical, scientific and business functional areas.

Primary Responsibilities & Objectives:
• Manages extensive evaluations of major information security networks, prepares evaluation reports, and presents recommendations.
• Consults with hardware, communications, database experts and /or vendors to ensure system viability.
• Ensures applicable documentation is updated according to client/ACS standards; may assist in user training. This includes SCIF documentation and management, C&A documentation, and SSP creation and management
• Stays abreast of developments in field of expertise to ensure knowledge base remains current.
• Routinely provides guidance to and assists in the training of less experienced staff.
• Individual will be in a liaison role with program management personnel, government customers and collegial security personnel.
• Works under general direction, within the parameters of company policies and procedures.
• Conducts trade off analyses of products for clients to determine optimal informant security solutions.
• Will also perform physical security assessments.
• He/she resolves any issues that may arise and act as the SME for the team.

Requirements:
- Active DOD Secret Clearance.
- Candidate must possess good presentation, communication, and people skills.
- Must have the ability to interface well with customers and subcontractor personnel at various management levels.
- Candidate will be required to interface with customer personnel to understand and develop verification requirements, resolve technical problems, and perform customer site surveys.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related discipline (or equivalent such as certifications in systems administration or network security) and seven to nine years of related experience.
- Preferable that candidate would have a current CISSP certification. Candidates who are close to completion of this certification are encouraged to apply.

Preferences:

2 years of managerial, leadership, project management and physical security experience. Ability to aggressively learn and apply business and program management principles.
