Information Technology Manager Position Description Provide leadership for the delivery of Specialized Information Technology (IT) services to Intelligence and Security Systems programs at Boeing and Customer locations. Manage mission critical IT systems and infrastructure. Manage IT governance to satisfy negotiated service level agreements with key stakeholders. Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the IT infrastructure and develop action plans to implement improvements. Ensure Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices are implemented and followed. Manages and integrates employee activities across Information Technologies including infrastructure design and administration, architecture, computing security, computing project support and/or process analysis. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals. Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages and provides developmental opportunities for employees. Responsibilities include directing and staffing a work group with 24 x 7 operations responsibility for IT infrastructure. Advises fellow K level managers and other internal employees in effective communication techniques [ + ] Customer Focus Provides K level direction for making customers and their needs a primary focus of direct report's job activities and actions; considers how work group's decisions/actions/plans will affect customers; actively seeks information to understand customers' circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs; presents project level information to middle and/or senior level managers to build their understanding of issues and capabilities as they relate to customer needs; considers how project level decisions/actions/plans will affect customers; responds quickly to meet significant customer needs and resolve problems; provides K level leadership on monitoring and evaluating customer concerns, issues, and satisfaction and to anticipate customer needs; implements and monitors customer feedback systems to gauge customer satisfaction and makes adjustments to service as indicated by feedback. Takes positive action to resolve the conflict in a way that addresses the issue, dissipates the conflict, and maintains the relationship. Holds others accountable for agreed upon responsibility.Technical [ + ] Delivery System Technology Indepth knowledge of multiple or complex operating systems (e.g., UNIX, Windows NT, MVS), middleware (e.g., transaction services, directory services) and gateway software, as well as computing security tools (e.g., firewalls, web security techniques, encryption techniques). [ + ] Process Improvement Methods General knowledge of product and process improvement methodologies (e.g., 6-Sigma, LEAN).
