Java Aviation Simulation Software Engineer

Sensis' Seagull Technology Center is seeking a talented and enthusiastic software engineer to support the continuing development of an advanced agent-based simulation of the National Airspace System (NAS). The system models thousands of aircraft, air traffic management (ATM) and airlines. The simulation is a key part of research being done by the U.S. Government, Sensis and industry to develop a safer and more efficient air transportation system.As a software engineer you will:Collaborate with other team members to design, implement, and maintain the softwarePerform unit, integration and system testingParticipate in peer code reviewsDevelop design and user documentation B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and 4 years work experience.Required Skills:JavaMessage oriented systemsFamiliarity with Spring (or other dependency injection frameworks)XMLFamiliarity with JPA and HibernateMySQLDatabase tools (Navicat, MySQL Control Center)UMLDesign PatternsBuild tools (Ant, Maven)IDEs (Eclipse, IntelliJ)Familiarity with version control systems (Subversion)Familiarity with issue tracking systems (JIRA)Familiarity with Agile principles and practicesDesired Skills:Contribution to an open source projectFamiliarity with JBoss Rules (Drools)Travel Requirements:Occasional travel may be requiredSecurity Clearance Required?
