Junior Flight Test Engineer

This job is located at Fort Rucker, AL.

Summary:
The Junior Flight Test Engineer performs development testing for aviation-related components and systems using principles of aerodynamics, mechanics, thermodynamics, statistics, and electronics.  The incumbent will develop and write test planning and report documents.  The incumbent will observe collection of test data and visit test sites, perform data collection, and devise data acquisition procedures.  The incumbent will perform calculations and analyses of data to answer test data acquisition procedures. 

Education/Experience/Skills Required:

• BS degree in aeronautical/aerospace/mechanical engineering.
• MS degree in any of the above disciplines is highly desired.
• Must have the capability to write test plans and reports.
• Must have the capability to execute test projects.
• Must be able to apply the practical knowledge of aerospace engineering to flight testing principles and concepts applicable to the developmental and system testing of rotary wing and fixed wing performance, stability and control, vehicle dynamics, and handling qualities.
• Must have demonstrated the capability to compile, reduce, format, analyze, and present test data.
• Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with Government and contractor personnel.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance.
• Must be a U. S. citizen
