Customers include the worlds militaries as well as system integrators. Sensis currently has an opening for a Systems Engineer, Aviation Simulation Specialist with our Seagull Technology Center (STC). STC is headquartered in San Jose, CA, the heart of Silicon Valley. STC has an established reputation of excellence as a leading provider of innovative aviation research and development, including prototype field testing, for agencies such as NASA, FAA & DOD.As a System Engineer, you will be a member of a highly skilled, creative, multidisciplinary team in a flexible, intellectually stimulating environment conducting Air Traffic Management (ATM) research.The Aviation Simulation Specialist will work on NASA's premier fast time national airspace system simulation (ACES).Responsibilities:Design and analysis of new air traffic management agent-based subsystem models Performing simulation subsystem design and algorithm development Performing simulation subsystem analysis, system testing and validation tasks Generating written technical documentation including use cases, test documents and user manualsGenerating and delivering oral presentations for both internal customersDaily activities may include:Writing simulation subsystem requirements documentsDeveloping new aviation systems modeling and analysis algorithms Generating Matlab code, scripts, and software routines based on desired algorithms Generating input decks, run, and analyze output results from aviation simulations Collecting and analyzing baseline aviation operations data Analyzing and validating simulated aviation operations data Generating visualizations of aviation analysis results Communicating research results through internal presentationsThe ideal candidate will be a motivated and innovative Engineer with the ability to work on multiple projects both autonomously and as part of an integrated project team. Qualifications:Degree in Engineering/Science (Aerospace, Civil, Mechanical, Operations Research, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematic, Physics')Required Skills:Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high quality solutions Excellent oral and written communication skills for fulfilling deliverables as well as interfacing with team members, management, the customer and industry professionalsEffective time management & multi-tasking skills used to meet deadlines.
