Laboratory Technician

Battelle is currently seeking a Lab Technician for it's Richland, Washington location. Vivarium Operations We have positions that have primary responsibility for operating, calibrating, and maintaining complex computerized electromechanical systems. All positions require: adhering to strict regulatory requirements, maintaining detailed system logs, reading and understanding written procedures, and following maintenance schedules and performing maintenance procedures with minimum supervision. Minimum Qualifications: High school education required. Strong mechanical and electrical skills obtained through education and/or experience. Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment. Able to work Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as needed. Must be able to wear a full face respirator. Able to wear other prescribed personal protective clothing and equipment as defined. Able to work in a radiological controlled area as needed. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications: AA or BS degree in technical field, especially mechanical or electrical. Courses in Science and Math. Strong computer literacy. Excellent record keeping skills. This is a bargaining unit position and as a condition of employment the staff member will be required to join the appropriate union affiliated with the Hanford Atomic Metal Trades Council (HAMTC) after 30 days of continuous service and pay union dues or pay agency fee to such union in leau of joining.
