Laboratory Technician - Metallurgical Lab

Bodycote’s Freeman facility located in Santa Fe Springs, CA specializes in testing of aerospace alloys. Our testing expertise consists of: Creep/Stress Rupture, Chemistry, Tensile, Fracture toughness and Fatigue.  We hold many accreditations and are a “one stop” testing facility for aerospace customers.

 

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for our Metallurgical Lab.

 

This position reports to the Manager of the Metallurgical Lab.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·Prepare micro-specimens and macro-specimens of different alloys for evaluation; run auto preparation machine; cut, grind, and etch accordingly.

·Prepare, set up, and monitor heat treat loads, prepare thermal couples, complete heat treat documents and records.

·  Perform “Brinell” hardness test, micro hardness test, and calibration checks on machines/operations.

·  Complete documentation/records for each job and enter into results into computer.

·  Other responsibilities are required.

 

Education and Qualifications:High School Graduate2-5 years related work experienceBasic MS Office knowledge: Word and ExcelRead, write, and speak English fluentlyUse hand tools effectively and safely
