Lean/Six-Sigma Manufacturing Engineer (257199-723)

DescriptionReporting to Plant Manager this position has the responsibilities described below.Production:Organize and execute the company’s Lean / Six-Sigma (LSS) strategy for the production areas assigned. Drive continuous improvements in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Contributes to the manufacturing launch of new/revised products.Using LSS tools, design/improve manufacturing processes which maximize efficiency by analyzing equipment layout, workflow, methods, and work force utilization. Change Champion:Identify, implement, and facilitate change management throughout the production organization as a LSS Leader. Key Duties and Responsibilities:Lead projects as member of team and execute LSS company-wide process improvement/optimization activities and Lean manufacturing implementation. Identify/justify capital project opportunities and develop project budgets.Training of others as required.Assists Green Belts in projects and structured improvement activities.Completes an annual VSM update on their assigned location and structured improvement activities that provide hard and soft savings $0.75-$2 million annually. Support and contribute to Company safety programs and initiatives.Planning and project organization - ability to plan over a 3-6 month time span involving multiple inputs from external and internal customers.Albany International Corp. is an AA/EEO/M/F/V/D employer.Required SkillsSix sigma and lean manufacturing tools/practices.MS Office suite proficiency.CAD proficiency – AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks preferred.Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, proven problem solving abilities, strong team player, and a positive “whatever it takes” attitude. Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Training. Successful on-the-job mentoring on at least 3 projects with a Master Black Belt or designated Black Belt mentor.
