Logistics Specialist II-Systems Hardware Specialist
Rocky Mountain Engineering is seeking a Systems Hardware Specialist (Logistics Specialist II) to support the Air Force Weather Agency’s Systems Engineering, Management, and Sustainment (SEMS) program. The Systems Hardware Specialist will work closely with the prime contractor and Air Force personnel at our Omaha, NE (Offutt AFB) facility, to ensure mission readiness of a multi-million dollar environmental intelligence data center. As a member of this team, in a fast-paced environment, the Systems Hardware Specialist will be responsible for a variety of hardware subprojects, ensuring success from inception to final implementation and delivery for adaptive, corrective, and perfective task orders. Examples of specific subprojects include COTS upgrades, augmentations, replacements, and reconfigurations of system/host computing resources, network infrastructure components, storage area network devices, and facility equipment. Other responsibilities include project planning, design, site planning, item selection/acquisition, implementation, verification, and maintenance as well as performing reliability, maintainability, and availability analyses. The Systems Hardware Specialist must also understand design concepts for highly available systems, and will collect TPMs and maintain an asset control database. Also being responsible for COTS lifecycle cost analyses, working with vendors to understand system specifications and cost exposure, conduct training and prepare technical documentation, and effectively brief technical information and project status to Program Engineers and Government Customers. Required Skills/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Computer Engineering; Computer Science; or related technical field, or equivalent work experience, plus two or more years of applicable work experience. Two or more years of experience is required in each of the following: * Systems Hardware Engineering, including: COTS design, implementation, verification, and maintenance/troubleshooting * Reliability, maintainability, availability, and safety analyses and predictions * Parts control, asset tracking, logistics, and TPM collection/analysis/reporting * Working with COTS hardware and software vendors to specify and obtain quotes for materials * Conducting structured decision analyses such as trade studies * ESD control processes * Familiarity with UNIX and Windows basic System Administration for collecting metrics * Demonstrated ability to develop sound project plans, schedules, and budgets * Accurately documenting and succinctly presenting technical information to a variety of audiences * Using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Working with minimal supervision showing high accountability for assigned tasks THIS POSITION REQUIRES US CITIZENSHIP AND A SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE, WITH THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A TOP SECRET/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE. Desired Skills/Experience: * Familiarity with networking, enterprise-class storage, information security, and Government programs is desired, with specific background for Cisco, Foundry, F5, ADAC, Sun, IBM, Dell, DEC, and Hitachi hardware COTS products being a plus. * Background in critical production hardware and software maintenance * Technical knowledge of network infrastructure, enterprise class client/server architectures, and enterprise data storage environments. * Experience with Cisco, Foundry, F5, ADAC, Sun, IBM, Dell, DEC, and Hitachi hardware and software * Knowledge of information security requirements and design patterns, including multi-level security technology * Understanding of supply chain management and configuration management * Familiarity with condition based maintenance and performance based logistics concepts * Experience using RMA and Logistics tools such as ASENT, ReadiLog, ITEM, etc. * Experience with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis with Criticality Assessment (FMECA) * ASQ Reliability Certification a plus * ESD certification a plus * Background in Government environments, particularly aerospace applications * Understanding of process improvement methodologies * Familiarity with risk and opportunity management activities * Experience with Modeling and Simulation * Experience using Microsoft Project, Access, and Visio * Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills Company & Benefit Information: Raytheon is an industry leader in defense and government electronics, space, information technology, technical services, and special mission aircraft.
