MATERIAL MANAGER for overseeing production planning 5 - 20 yrs. experience $70,000 to $90,000

A manufacturing operation in North Carolina is searching for a Materials Manager to be responsible for overseeing production planning functions.  This position will be over everything in production control except purchasing.  Position reports to the Plant Manager.  Please read further for details to see if you are a match for this excellent career opportunity.


MATERIAL MANAGER

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
....Required: B.S. Degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering or related field.
....5 - 20 years experience will be considered
....Desirable: Specific education in materials planning
....Should have knowledge of principles of accounting, engineering, manufacturing and sales
....Required: knowledge of material planning systems (MRP) and personal computers

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
....Customer order promising and order launching
....Materials requisition - shop floor control/scheduling - planning, scheduling & completing of outside
processing, assembly and shipping schedules.
....Responsible for issuance of Manufacturing Factory Orders (MFOs) and scheduling vendors for
outside processing
....Responsible for initiating requisitions for raw materials for use in production

JOB DUTIES:
....Position directs & supervises shipping/receiving department, Inventory Control Clerk and
Material Planners
....Eliminate delays & insure adherence to production & shipping schedules
....Develops monthly shipping plan & executes shipping schedules
....Customer order delivery date - order launching
....Materials requisition
....Shop floor control/scheduling
....Planning, scheduling & completion of outside processes
....Assembly schedules & shipping schedules
....Perform capacity planning
....Oversees cycle counting program & inventory control systems
....Maintain a rolling production plan to include the preparation of production analyses, job machine load
forecasts & labor forecasts and makes appropriate recommendations to the Plant Manager
.....Verify component availability and valid capacity availability
....Maintain targeted inventory levels

SALARY:  $70,000 TO $90,000 Bonus Potential, Excellent Benefits
