MDS National Team Manager Sys Analyst / SE -MKV (NTZ-309) Position Description As a member of the MDS National Team, provides technical leadership and supervision for Multiple Kill Vehicle Team. Conducts technical analyses of existing and potential Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) elements and architectures in support of the definition and development of overall MKV system requirements and required component functionalities. Manages the activities of analysis teams to include plan development, and review and presentation of results. Uses and supports the development and refinement of a broad range of computer based models and simulations. Conducts trade studies of competing technologies and/or employment concepts to support senior decision makers in the planning and allocation of future resources. Additional duties to include managing the product team hiring process, earned value management, and day-to-day support of program activities. Extensive system engineering / operations analysis experience focused on performance predictions of complex systems and resolution of technical issues that affect performance, cost and schedule. Experience with Missile Defense programs and specifically kill vehicle technology. Strong communication skills, with proven ability to provide senior management with technical briefings. Experience performing analysis of Ballistic Missile Defense problems. Must have study lead / supervisory experience. Must have Secret clearance and eligible for Top Secret. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements in the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Ensures collaboration of direct reports with others on the tasks assigned. Maintains communication with direct reports, fellow K level managers, and others to identify and resolve any issues and ensure the successful completion of the project. Technical [ + ] Engineering Analysis In-depth knowledge of engineering analysis (e.g. mechanical, electrical, avionics, design, circuit, systems, stress, structural, durability). [ + ] Systems Trade Studies General knowledge of trade study process (e.g., benchmarking, best value). Education and/or Experience Requires educational credentials meeting the Boeing classification standards for engineers and typically 14 to 19 years' experience in an engineering classification or educational credentials meeting the Boeing classification standards for engineers and either a Master's degree with 12 to 17 years' experience or a PhD degree with 9 to 14 years' experience in an engineering classification. Other Job related information DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in BMDS engineering development and analysis activities at the overall system or individual element level. Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities. Familiarity with MATLAB and BMDS Mission Models.
