For our Sellersville [Philadelphia], PA  or El Cajon, CA Aerospace facility, we’re urgently seeking a top notch Mechanical Engineer (Fuel Systems Engineer) - an experienced fuel system engineer who will work closely with customers to design aircraft fuel systems, select system components, analyze performance, and demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.

Can you fulfill these requirements?:


 


- BS degree is required; Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering preferred.


 


- Must have Commercial Jet experience


 


- A minimum of 7 years experience in aircraft fuel system design is required. 10+ years experience with an airframe manufacturer or a system integrator is preferred.


 


- Experience with fluid flow analysis tools and FAA safety assessment processes is strongly preferred.


 


- Travel 10 to 25%; may involve occasional assignments at customer sites.

REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES





 


Education:





 


BS degree is required; Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering preferred.


 


A minimum of 7 years experience in aircraft fuel system design is required. 10+ years experience with an airframe manufacturer or a system integrator is preferred.


 


Experience with fluid flow analysis tools and FAA safety assessment processes is strongly preferred.





 


Responsibilities:





 


Develop system architecture; conduct trade studies to optimize design.


 


Coordinate with Product Managers and Sales team to estimate costs, document work breakdown, and prepare technical proposals.


 


Perform system safety assessment including FMEA


 


Select fuel system components (pumps, valves, piping, accessories).


 


Guide the design of new fuel system components to meet customer and company requirements.


 


Analyze system performance (CG, flow rate, pressure drop, pump performance, etc.).


 


Consult on design of ground test rigs and flight test plans.


Participate in system testing.


 


Required Skills:





 


Proficiency with 3-D CAD tools (CATIA, Solidworks) and Microsoft Office applications
