Manager, Flight Coordination

Location: Seattle, WA

Manager, Flight Coordination is responsible for developing the schedule for all flight-related activities.  The Manager also provides coordination with all other aviation departments, administrative staff, and outside organizations concerning the control and scheduling of all flights. The Manager provides administrative control within the provisions of FAA approved company manuals and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.

Essential duties and responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
• Responsible for creating and managing the schedule for flight crews and aircraft to include, aircrew training and aircraft maintenance.
• Provides management of the Flight Coordination team and department
• Monitors aircraft assignments for effective and efficient utilization of equipment and crews.
• Maintains a constant flow of flight information to all company departments.
• Responsible for obtaining necessary overflight and diplomatic clearances for flights into or over foreign countries.
• Develops and maintains a flight coordination training and procedures manuals.
• Directs the initiation, continuation, diversion, and termination of flights in compliance with applicable FAR's and Operations Specifications.
• Cancels, diverts or delays any flight if in the event of safety concerns.
• Acts as the aviation liaison between appropriate FAA, ATC, and local airport operations.
• Conducts and approves a daily review of upcoming flights and aircraft availability.
• Coordinates with Chief Pilot, Sr. Manager of Flight Attendants, and Director of Maintenance, in the development and execution of the schedule.
• Demonstrates honesty, responsibility, integrity and fulfillment of commitments

Required computer skills
MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Windows XP)

Education/experience/certifications
• Associate’s degree (A.A.) in related field and 10+ years experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Continuing education related to career field.

Special remarks regarding work environment:
• On call 24/7
• Actively applying for, or in current possession of, a valid Passport
• Must be accessible by cell phone 24/7 except on PTO days
• Work hours can extend past normal office hours
• Domestic and International travel may be required
• Knowledge of CTA (Computing Technologies for Aviation) Flight Operating System (FOS) a plus.
