Manufacturing Engineer

 

§ BS Degree and/or 3+ years of experience in medium to high production manufacturing setting

§ Experience with flow and process Engineering required

§ Experience with tooling and fixture design required

§ Must be able to demonstrate hands on experience in running, problem solving, and programming various machines (critical skill)

§ Experience with MRP and BOM structure required

§ Must have hands on experience in Lean concepts (5S, VSM, Standardization)

§ Proficient at AutoCAD and Microsoft Applications

§ Experience in grinding, machining, and PLC programming recommended

§ Extensive experience in CNC programming, preferably with macro variables

§ Project management experience preferred

§ Process failure mode and effect analysis preferred

§ Green belt/Black belt Six Sigma certification is a plus

 

Lead the plant in the area of continuous improvement using Lean principles (VSM, TPM, pull systems)

Train and develop workforce on Lean concepts

Work with production teams in root cause analysis and problem solving

Work with workforce on reducing overall manufacturing costs with focus in areas of tooling and scrap

Develop and maintain manufacturing instructions and process sheets

Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods

Review machine capabilities and determine steps required to improve where needed

Provide daily manufacturing support to Business unit to meet QOS goals and the Profit plan

Using lean techniques; lead teams in driving down WIP and improving overall productivity

Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency

Develop training manuals and testing  documentation on machines in area of responsibility for employee competency certification

Create process documentation for area of responsibility

 

Assist in identifying and estimating capital needs for area of responsibility

 

Well versed in project management
