Parker Hannifin Corporation - Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division is a global supplier of fluid metering, delivery and atomization devices for builders and users of commercial, industrial and aerospace propulsion engines and related products. This position will be located in Clyde, New York; a rural city situated roughly 40 miles east of Rochester, and 30 miles west of Syracuse. Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer I (3 first shift, 1 second shift)Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to ensure the cost effectiveness and reliability of manufacturing processes and workflow. You will determine the methods and sequences of manufacturing operations for moderately complex products and machine parts and assemblies. You must also ensure that products and processes meet customer quality requirements and provide producibility input and manufacturing plans for product design or modification. Provides support to the production team leader. Other specific duties include: Responsibilities: · Evaluates moderately complex manufacturing processes by conducting process analysis, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations from operators/production technicians. · Develops moderately complex manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; and conferring with equipment suppliers. Prepares written and graphical work instructions. · Refines and enhances products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to areas of production. Creates standard work instructions. · Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing/planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Assures process control and reliability for assigned areas. Assures product/process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product/process capabilities, and establishing standards to confirm and validate manufacturing process requirements. Determines root cause of failure using statistical methods that may result in changes in design, tolerances, or processing methods. · Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor standards, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements. May serve as liaison to supplier base. · Prepares product/process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Presents findings and underlying rationale to team, supplier, or customer. · May maintain product/process database by writing computer programs, travelers, operation sheets, and entering data.Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Engineering or a Manufacturing related technical discipline required. Society of Mechanical Engineering certification desired. 2. 3+ years of related experience & demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job. 3. Required: Knowledge of manufacturing & production engineering principles, concepts and general business operations. Must possess strong mechanical aptitude. 4. Required: Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).5. Required: Knowledge of Assembly & Test process. Experience with Brazing, Welding, and machining a plus.6. Experience applying continuous improvement methods to quality & manufacturing functions (e.g. pull systems, process mapping, JIT), such as experience with lean manufacturing, six sigma.7. Ability to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools.8. Experience with CAD/CAM systems or other computer aided manufacturing systems such as Pro-E.9. Ability to work on a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of the situation or data requires thorough identification of factors and analysis of impact. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions 10. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals and policies and recommend changes to procedures. 11. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management.
