Manufacturing Engineer II

Essential Functions:

 

Responsible for the development/refining of manufacturing methods.  This position is responsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing engineering programs that will result in reliable and cost effective production methods, improved machine capacity and more efficient equipment where resultant product meets customer requirements relative to quality and costs.

 

Specific Responsibilities Include:

 

·          Responsible for maintenance of product manufacturing drawings, tooling drawings, routing sheets and manufacturing procedures.

·          Has a thorough knowledge of machinery and methods using Headers, Drillers, Forming and Blanking Presses, Progressive Dies, Assembly, etc...

·          Design and debugging of manufacturing processes and tooling.

·          Continuous improvement of tooling and manufacturing methods.

·          Assist in reduction of set-up time.

·          Work hand in hand with production technicians to enhance manufacturing processes and troubleshoot issues.

·          Resource for technical guidance to manufacturing personnel.

·          Assist in determination of root cause of persistent problems.

·          Support Quality System Improvement.

·          Provides analysis and assists with capital equipment justifications.

·          Interfaces with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve engineering issues.

 Education:

 

Degree in Engineering or related Technical field.   Must be proficient in CAD/Solid Modeling.

 

Experience and Background:

 

Five years experience in metalworking industry.  Must have working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles. Requires experience in product and process failure analysis and an understanding of world class manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing, JIT, SPC, TQM, etc.  Must have demonstrated a record of achievement in manufacturing and problem solving with production teams.  Must be skilled in use of personal computers with emphasis on analytical software.  Knowledge of Collar or Camloc Fasteners is desirable.
