ITT Industries Space Systems Division designs and builds space based electro-optical imaging systems for government and commercial use. We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our Rochester, NY, facility. The Space Systems Division is organized into Integrated Product Teams (IPT's), which are responsible for each specific segment of the system. The manufacturing organization is looking for a Mechanical Product Engineer to provide Design for Manufacturability input as well as cost and schedule information during the design phase of the program. Following drawing completion, this individual would manage the fabrication and assembly of the mechanical hardware and play a key role as a quality advocate. The engineer will write assembly instructions to build and align the sub-systems and act as the technical interface between assembly and design. Job Specifications and Work Performed:- Write Work Instruction and Shop Orders- Work effectively as a Team Member- Guide Assembly & Fabrication work from a Technical Standpoint- Provide job status to Shop Floor Scheduler and Program Scheduler- Work according to SSD Procedures- Work with Engineering Drawings and Specs. CAD experience with Unigraphics or ProE is helpful. - BS or BSET in an engineering discipline with 3 years or more of professional experience. - Experience working on space vehicle programs preferred.- CAD experience with Unigraphics or ProE is helpful.- Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
