Manufacturing Engineering / Planner (Aerospace)

GKN Aerospace Chem-tronics Thermal Joining Center in Kent, WA offers a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment that supports continuous improvement processes and lean manufacturing principles in the manufacture of state of the art, complex aerospace metallic structures. We are seeking a self-starting, capable and enthusiastic team member to help us improve our existing product lines and support the growth of the overall facility.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a 2-year degree (4-year preferred) with an emphasis in manufacturing methods/engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent.  Requires 3 years experience in manufacturing planning, preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment.  Must have an understanding of fabrication, assembly and shop math, including spatial relations.  Must be able to interpret blueprints, manufacturing and process specifications.  Expected to be familiar with material processes and the use of tools, fixtures and gages.  Requires working knowledge of Unigraphics, CATIA or AutoCad computer systems, and  MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access and Project.  Must possess good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:Under routine supervision, and working in conjunction with the assigned manufacturing engineer, prepares the manufacturing routers and operation sheets which specify the production process, tooling, machine, and manufacturing methods to be used, the type of inspection procedures and the overall sequence of operations to be followed to produce assemblies which comply with all customer requirements.  May prepare Bill of Material requirements and generate work orders for the design and or fabrication of NC programs, fixtures and assembly tools.  Will work with the assigned manufacturing engineer to see a product through to satisfactory production, helping to coordinate the manufacturing processes involved to meet customer, government and company requirements. GKN offers a very competitive benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, company paid life and disability insurances, $2500.00 tuition reimbursement per year, 401(k) with company match, two weeks vacation after the first year of employment, and 12 paid holidays per year.
