Manufacturing Planner
Progressive Incorporated, a division of Heroux Devtek, is an industry leader in the manufacture of large, complex aerostructures. Recognized for our ability to meet exacting standards, we have invested millions of dollars in a new facility to meet production requirements for the next 20 years. We are looking for someone with experience to join our growing company as a Manufacturing Planner. An essential member of the manufacturing team, this position ensures the continuous flow of machining operations to meet schedules and deliver a final product meeting exacting quality standards. Using purchase orders, engineering documents, engineering models and specifications, this position plans the sequence of machining and manufacturing operations of Aerostructure components, including material preparation, tooling, machining, processing, finishing, and inspection to create job books (work instructions, routers, travelers) in the MRP/ERP. Effective job books require coordination with Program Managers, Customer, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, sub-contracted processors and others. Included in the planning process is the identification of material requirements, establishment of a Bill of Materials and master list. Job books are also utilized as a manufacturing control to track production operations and ensure compliance with design requirements as well as provide traceability of fracture-critical parts. For each modification of a part, job books must be evaluated for revision of manufacturing procedures. Due to the nature of the product, a high degree of attention to detail is critical in this position. Essential functions include, but are not limited to:1) Based on purchase orders, evaluate blue prints, engineering drawing, customer instructions, purchase orders, and other source documentation for each part number to review and update or create a job book to include every internal and external manufacturing process, expected duration of each process and traceability.2) Submit all new or revised job books for fracture critical parts to customer for approval prior to initiating production.3) Coordinate with manufacturing Engineering to determine machining requirements for each part number, to include sequence of process from preparation to finishing and duration of each stage.4) Enter production orders into MRP and publish job order.5) Create, review and update as needed each part's Bills of Materials for manufactured and purchased items.6) Create, review and update as needed item master part technical and MRP planning information.7) Using the Bill of Materials and inventory records, assign raw materials to job book and publish to initiate production and estabish traceability. The ideal candidate will have:5 years Manufacturing Planning experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.Stron knowledge of CNC milling, benching and skinning operations and associated tooling.Experience with material handling practices, part identification, and traceability.Familiarity with manufacturing raw materials, to include: raw material types, alloys, temper and grain direction.Must be detail oriented,BA/BS degree in a technical field preferred. Must have knowledge of:MRP/ERP PDM (Product Data Manager) Aerospace engineering specifications Milling operations, including CNC, Profile and Conventional Bench operationsInspection operationsSkills include:Read and interpret engineering drawings and parts lists Ability to:Effectively communicate with subcontractors for offload coordination.Identify minor, but signficant, specification modifications.
