Manufacturing Process Engineer / CP4930

Position Description:

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, a division of Saint-Gobain's High Performance Materials sector is building its Manufacturing Engineering team in its Engineered Components facility located in Garden Grove, CA. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will be responsible for the staging area of our High Performance Seals manufacturing operation, which includes a heavy concentration of producing and managing the CNC programming process as well as improvements in the area of CNC machining. The successful candidate will have the ability to design tools and fixtures for both CNC lathes and mills including other processes. In addition, he/she will be responsible for developing the standards that will enhance existing processes using his/her knowledge of polymer and metallic product realization and throughput systems.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will spend their time in the following activities:20% - - CNC Lathes & Mills programming using Edgecam software10% - - Creating routers & Bill of Materials25% - - Designing Tools & Fixtures for machining new product20% - - Process Improvement activities for existing CNC machining processes10% - - Identify and Implement efficiency improvements5% - - ERP/MRP Implementation10% - - Supervising the work of two tooling clerks Requirements:(1) 4 year Degree in an Engineering Discipline such as Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.(2) 5-7 years experience in a plastics manufacturing operation.(3) Experience working in and knowledge of an ISO 9000 environment.(4) Good project management & problem solving skills.(5) Solid knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
