Material Control Supervisor

SUMMARY
Directs and coordinates activities of assembly, electronics test, inspection, planning and buying employees engaged in the manufacture of commercial avionics products in a MANAGE 2000 environment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Directs and coordinates manufacturing, planner/buyers, and production planning in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Thales to obtain optimum production efficiency, quality, cost levels and utilization of resources.
2. Confers with product line manager to establish production control standards, develop budgets and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
3. Maintains production levels in accordance with the business plan and master schedule.
4. Ensures on-time shipments.
5. Ensures standard operational practices, methods and procedures.
6. Prepares and revises master schedule, and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production meets shipping schedule and quality of products meets specifications.
7. Reviews production, cost and product quality reports, and modifies production planning programs to ensure profitable operation of Company.
8. Reviews and analyzes reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.
9. Consults with engineering and quality personnel relative to modification of machines, equipment and methods in order to improve production and quality of products.
10. Conducts/subcontracts worker training programs; initiates plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
11. Ensures integrity of databases, and time, production, inspection and training records.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises five employees in the Operations. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; five to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
