Material Planner- Aircraft Programs (LITT)

SUMMARY: The Material Planner is responsible for the planning and supporting documentation and subsequent inclusion in proposals that contain material (BOMs Group A/Group B)/subcontracts. The Material Planner works with the Proposal, Program, and Procurement (Buyers) teams to document (quotes/PO history/subcontractor proposals) required for proposals that contain material/subcontracts. Ensures the materials/subcontracts portion of a proposal is FAR compliant and tracks between WBSs, BOEs, BOMs, and the quotes/subcontractor proposals. The Material Planner works closely with the Production Planner to establish material critical paths using the planned production schedule and estimated/proposed/quoted scheduled material deliveries. The Material Planner works closely with Program Management in providing a material and production status that concisely shows critical path areas for both the proposal and the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).  The Material Planner prime focus is to support proposal efforts by coordinating/developing Bills of Materials (BOM) and the organized quote book (Appendix A Vol III Cost & Pricing and Vol IV Quotes and Back-up Material) used to substantiate BOE/BOM costs.  The Material Planner develops the Operations planning data required as part of both the proposal and program start-up efforts.  The Operations planning data requires interfacing with other Operations functions such as Production Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, and Test Engineering to establish program baseline requirements needed to be performed by the Operations organization. SNC job descriptions are meant as summarizations only.  They do not necessarily reflect all duties and responsibilities of a position.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develops and maintains a detailed program status that concentrates on defining and statusing critical path items for proposals and Integrated Master Schedules which become part of a proposal. Maintains configuration control of the BOM until handed over to Operations. Works with proposal and program team members to address issues. Inputs and maintains Parts Lists in Materials Management System as appropriate/required. Validates all required program parts lists in Materials Management System before the project start-up phase to ensure agreement with released engineering data. Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by management.

Familiar with engineering terminology, able to interpret drawings, parts list, and perform parts researching. Must be able to coordinate and work closely with buyers, engineers, and proposal team members. Must be able to work with minimal guidance and take the initiative when needed. Demonstrated working knowledge of DoD FARs and contracting required. College degree preferred; Associates degree required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance may be required.

*SNC is an EEO employer committed to recruiting a diverse workforce.
