If you are an experienced supply chain professional with an interest in space, we are currently recruiting for a Material Program Manager to join our Procurement team. 50% - Represents Aerojet's Supply Chain Organization in assisting our customers and partners in achieving our collective goals. Acts as a liaison assessing and managing performance both at our suppliers and internally at Aerojet. Position will be responsible for a wide range of Supply Chain activities from proposal support to subcontract management functions including source selection and detailed purchase order initiation, release, and follow up. Performs continuous supplier assessment, including evaluation of financial viability, capacity, capability and continuous improvement. Fosters, maintains and manages relationships, both internal to the company and external with the suppliers. Uses overall knowledge of the suppliers, the product, the process and the people to improve our performance. Understands, validates, and communicates/iterates requirements, special terms, quality clauses, etc., cited in a given Purchase Order. Utilizes six sigma, lean, or other methodologies to develop root cause analysis, and critical process assessment. 20% - Active involvement in supplier's problem resolution/risk mitigation efforts at key suppliers. 10% - Provides weekly "one-liner" input into the Supply Chain organization. Drafts and presents status reports, using MS Project, PowerPoint and other tools. Deals effectively with top management, internally and externally. 10% - Chairs, or is an intimate participant in, supplier-related program reviews, design reviews, production readiness or other technical and/or programmatic activities at the supplier's facilities. 10% - Leads and represents Aerojet's interests within the supplier community, including balancing of tactical subcontract management work with Aerojet's overall business strategies. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned. Requires a Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline and 9 years of experience in Supply Chain, Material, or Program Management (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Must have knowledge of and familiarity with government procurement procedures/policies and operating guidelines. Requires demonstrated skill in directing resources, including the ability to plan and coordinate the activities of assigned organizations and programs. Ability to provide administrative leadership to accomplish organizational goals and commitments needed. Must have experience in basic computer software (Microsoft Office Suite), along with customized reporting tools. Must be able obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance if required at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). Details on Key Skills Needed: Subcontract Management - Versed in multiple aspects of supply chain function, including planning, material control, supplier selection and overall supplier performance. Experience with tools used in monitoring/measuring performance, conducting trend analysis and overall operational excellence. Ability to negotiate positive outcomes. Demonstrated problem resolution skills. Ability to coordinate and communicate in a timely and effective manner. People Skills Ability to engage other employees without direct reporting relationships to support plans put in place. Share personal successes with team members at all levels. Project Management - Communicate and interface between supplier and cognizant Supply Chain and Integrated Product Team functions. Demonstrated experience and success under minimal supervision, where assignments are objective or task-oriented. Ability to uncover problems/issues and be a solution provider. Technical - Ability to review and interpret technical documents, including drawings, specifications, and Statements of Work (SOWs), along with quality requirement flowdowns and other requirements cited in a specific Purchase Order.
