Senior Manufacturing Engineer

 

 

Reports To: Manager, Engineering

 

 

To lead in design and procurement of assembly and manufacturing equipment. Help maintain and develop existing production processes to improve quality, cost and delivery, and provide cost effective, manufacturing solutions for new products.

 

General:

Manage large capital equipment upgrades while leading and supporting Lean-Six Sigma initiatives on the plant floor.

 

Essential Functions:

 Purchase and commissioning of equipment, fixtures and tooling.Drive standardization of processes, effective cost-out initiatives, and monitoring of capital equipment from a divisional perspective. Design, develop, implement and enhance manufacturing and assembly processes that meet safety, quality and productivity continuous improvement expectations.Support the production of products in-house and externally.Training and developing staff as required.Document and process controls.Managing and planning jobs based upon company priorities.

Education:

 Technical 4 year degree, prefer mechanical engineering

 

 

Experience:

 At least five years experience in a manufacturing engineering environment preferred.Lean Manufacturing, Shainin Certification, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TQM or other rapid continuous improvement systems preferred.Tool, gage, and machine design experience required.Proven ability and experience programming complex parts on modern high speed automated assembly machines. Functional hydralics testing Knowledge of Equipment Launch ManagmentAutomation designStrong preference given for direct automotive industry experience.
