Mechanical Engineer
Growing Avionics Systems Manufacturer on Seattle's north side seeks experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its team. Great opportunity for engineer with 5-10 years of experience who enjoys wearing a lot of hats and seeing product development projects through from cradle to grave. Ideal candidate will enjoy hands on engineering work but also enjoy significant project management responsibilities. Knowledge of electronic packaging is critical.
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of mechanical designs from concept through final details. Performs a wide of engineering assignments, including project management tasks, with little or no supervision.
This individual will have ownership of the overall packaging design for electronic, electro-optical, or electro-mechanical products for the aviation market. Areas of concentration will include: Thermal/Vibration performance, ease of assembly, cost effectiveness, accuracy of documentation, and adherence to schedules. This individual will work closely with electrical, optical, and manufacturing engineers to achieve optimal system designs. This position will also include frequent interaction with customers regarding both technical and scheduling issues. Light business travel expected (up to 10%).
QUALIFICATIONS:
BSME/MSME with 5-10 years of relevant product development experience. Full knowledge of heat transfer, stress and vibration analysis, and manufacturing processes including metal working and molding of plastics. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
