Yoh has an exciting long-term contract opportunity for a Mechanical Technician at a Fortune 50 Research & Development Facility in Niskayuna, NY. As a Mechanical Technician, you will perform a variety of measurements, obtain and prepare data.  Make competent experimental observations and report results.Job Duties:   • Equipment – From specific instructions, operate equipment for routine and sometimes non-routine depositions.  Calibrations and operations are performed under training/guidance of lead engineer(s).   Keep accurate and up to date deposition run and maintenance records. • Perform Experiments – Perform a variety of experiments and perform non-routine experiments from specific instructions.  Adjust experimental variables within outlined limits.  Observe the experiment critically, take pertinent data.  Recognize equipment and experimental irregularities, which would indicate new or unexpected phenomena or would tend to invalidate the experiment.  Bring irregularities to the attention of lead engineers. • Interpret Results – With guidance, reduce data to useful form by using appropriate mathematical techniques, including the use of software such as Excel and Word.  Prepare data such that the lead engineer(s) can quickly and accurately analyze it.  • Records – Maintain complete and accurate records of all work both operational as well as maintenance related.  • Safety – Perform all work in a safe manner.  Where doubt exists as to possible dangers involved to life or property, the lead engineers or Manager of EHS should be consulted.
