Summary Statement:Develops and maintains quality assurance programs, policies, processes and procedures to ensure the performance and quality of products conform to established standards and regulatory agency guidelines.Provides leadership to institutionalize the processes in accordance with organizational goals and objectives with focus on Continuous Improvement. Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:Works within established organizational objectives. Accomplishes results through subordinate supervisors or through experienced exempt and nonexempt staff. Performs typical responsibilities of management requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and coaching. Work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting cost, schedule and quality objectives.Provides expertise and guidance in interpreting government regulations, regulatory agency guidelines and internal policies to ensure compliance. Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization.Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes to procedures. Reviews technical publications, articles and abstracts to stay abreast of the technical developments in the industry. Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product. Confers with engineering regarding quality issues of new product designs. Works directly with operating entities to ensure that inspections and audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements and meet specifications. Manages audits or directs the audit of work activities of stakeholders to verify conformance of activities to standards defined in the audit document. Observes and asks questions pertaining to job functions.Analyzes defective repairs and products, reports findings to management and appropriate department. Maintains an effective material review, disposition and corrective action program. Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.Confers with material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply, quality and capacity of the vendor to meet production requirements and to insure quality of all purchased parts for company use.Directs workers engaged in quality assurance activities to ensure continuous control and improvement of Quality processes. Designs and implements Quality training programs for key personnel in conjunction with managers.Ancillary Functions and Responsibilities:Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:MANAGER QUALITY ASSURANCEFormal Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience:Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements in this section at the discretion of management. Bachelor level degree or equivalent in the appropriate discipline and eight (8) or more years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a working knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration regulations and requirements, ISO 9001, customer airworthiness requirements and the requirements of Part 21. European Aviation Safety requirements and Coordinated Agency Supplier Evaluation are required working knowledge when this position is in the Repair environment.Categories and Number of Stakeholders Directly Supervised:Manages Production and Maintenance, Leads, Supervisory and professional Stakeholders.Communication and Special Skills: Communicate effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms. Make telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and make formal presentations to small or large groups. Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite. Possess or be willing to obtain certification from the International Auditor and Training Certification Association (IATCA) or the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB).Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Stakeholder to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The Stakeholder frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The Stakeholder is occasionally required to walk. The Stakeholder must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to travel between facilities and operate standard office equipment. Work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week as required. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.Qualifications"Must be Customer Focused (Internal and External)"Detailed knowledge of Aircraft Interior components; design, manufacturing and inspection of such components is highly preferred"Possess thorough knowledge of AS9100:2004 and ISO9100:2000"Possess a working knowledge of FAA regulations"Must have ability to draft Processes and Procedure for Quality Manuals"Must be able to conduct both internal and external audits, developing and execution of Corrective Action Plans"Possess thorough knowledge of MRB processes"Ability to review customer requirements and establish documented inspection criteria"Statistical analysis experience is preferred"Must be able to develop and mentor those in direct reporting relationships"Self Starter, Highly organized, able to set own priorities"Aggressive and assertive, able to get results"Process oriented, able to develop, deploy, measure, and sustain improved performance"Ability to clearly set and communicate expectations"SAP experience strongly preferred"Above average MS Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook skills"Must be able to work in excess of 40 hours and weekends as required to meet customer and program needs"Excellent communication skills, verbal and written"Must be able to work as an effective part of a Team "Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time"Will be required to work with and oversee multiple suppliers"Must be able to read, write and speak the English language"Will need to be willing to travel domestically and internationally if/when required"Must be able to obtain a US passport"Must be able to obtain an AMEX credit card
