Network Administrator-Santa Clarita

Position Summary:

A Network administrator with 3 – 5 years experience working in a High Tech or engineering environment.

 Position Responsibilities:

Ø  Setup, configure and maintain desktop, and laptop computer systems.

Ø  Provide desktop support, and respond to IT helpdesk requests

Ø  Manage and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, hubs, modems, and phone system.

Ø  Support all aspects of security including Firewalls, VPN, Anti-virus, Intrusion Detection, and spam-filtering

Ø  Manage and support server applications including IIS 5.0/6.0, Microsoft SQL 2000/2005, Microsoft Exchange 2003, and SharePoint Portal Server

Ø  Manage network services including DNS, DHCP, WINS, and Active Directory

Ø  Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies for automating network and system performance and administration

Ø  Perform and maintain backups of critical servers and applications, and perform periodic integrity tests of backups

Ø  Provide end user training, and create documents for reference and support.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Ø  3-5 Years Network Administration experience in a Business Environment

Ø  Detailed working knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 Servers, Windows XP/Vista Operating systems.

Ø  Experience configuring and maintaining Microsoft SQL 2000/2005, Exchange 2003, IIS 5.0/6.0 applications

Ø  Experience supporting and maintaining Dell and IBM Laptops, Desktops, Workstations and Servers

Ø  Detailed working knowledge of Active Directory

Ø  Detailed working knowledge of Antivirus Protection, Firewalls, Web Filtering, and Spam Prevention

Ø  Strong Networking experience managing and maintaining network devices and services including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS.

Ø  Must possess strong communication and writing skills.

Ø  Ability to negotiate hardware/software service and technical support contracts with vendors.

Ø  Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.

Ø  Must be willing to work after business hours occasionally to perform maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting

 

 

Minimum Education requirements:

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, or possess equivalent experience
