The Glendale, AZ facility has a 40 year heritage of designing, developing and manufacturing products for manned and unmanned space applications.  Project Orion is NASA's new manned spacecraft, intended to supersede the Space Shuttle, which will transport humans to the International Space Station, and back to the moon. Honeywell is developing much of the avionics for Orion, including Network Interface Controllers (NIC) and switches for Orion’s onboard data network. We are looking for an avionics network systems engineer to develop the network devices for the Orion avionics.   Your main responsibilities will include: - Ability to develop and document box level hardware requirements specifications and interface control documents.- Ability to work various electronic hardware design teams to develop circuit card and ASIC/FPGA level requirements specifications. - Ability to coordinate and monitor progress of design activities across the various electronic hardware design teams.- Ability to verify and validate box level hardware requirements.- Ability to develop box level test specifications and plans.- Ability to work with test engineering team to develop detailed test procedures, and supporting them during the performance of the tests.- Ability to support integration of hardware and software components.- Internet Protocol Network Systems Engineering Experience- Experience with IPSec, Differentiated Service / Quality of Service- Extensive knowledge of and experience with Internet Protocol industry standards- Experience with Real Time Protocols (RTP), streaming audio and streaming videoBasic Qualifications·  BS in Electrical Engineering (preferred), or related discipline.·  1 to 10 years avionics related experience minimum; MS degree can substitute for 2 years experience.·  US citizen or permanent resident. Additional Qualifications·  Experience with digital electronics design, including: microprocessors, ASIC/FGPAs, and WAN/LAN and Ethernet.·  Experience with system engineering tools such as DOORS, Team Center and Cradle.·  Experience in NASA human space vehicle systems.·  Good people skills and the ability to work effectively with other organizations and individuals at all levels, including customers. ·  A positive, can-do attitude is required.
