PRODUCTION & ASSEMBLY SUPERVISOR I
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Develops, schedules and implements activities for the aircraft assembly and integration for GA-ASI. Coordinates day-to-day activities of the assembly personnel including personnel supervision, work assignments, and coordination of the product flow through the production phase. Supervises personnel through all phases of aircraft assembly. Offers guidance and coaching to the personnel. Assists engineering staff to resolve design and documentation issues. Interfaces with planning and quality assurance personnel in the generation of process flows. Analyzes work orders and drawings. Interfaces with production control and monitors usage and supply of all production materials, tooling and test equipment. Formulates and recommends plans, policies, procedures and schedules. Implements Lean manufacturing and seeks continuous improvement. Evaluates work standards and performance levels. Inspects work in progress and finished products. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Interviews prospective employees. Responsible for training, qualifications and certification. Associates degree with five years production-related experience emphasizing manufacturing techniques and process efficiencies. Additional experience may substitute for the formal education. Five years experience as a senior technician with aircraft manufacturing in a prototype and production environment preferred. Aircraft A & P License a plus. Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the functional area. Experience in the implementation Lean manufacturing techniques (Kaizan, 5S, etc). Working knowledge of quality assurance, planning and testing procedures. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interactions with staff, customers and suppliers. Has experience in developing and administering schedules and performance requirements. Has the authority to interpret and execute policies and procedures that typically affect subordinate employees.
