Painter Aircraft

Overview:Locates markings on assemblies by use of templates or drawings. Refers to work orders, drawings and other specifications for type and color of paints required. Performs such typical operations as applying interior and exterior finish coatings, including shading and blending, by the use of spray equipment on major assemblies. Performs final touch-up work with spray gun and brush, including color matching, feathering and lettering. Incidental to the work described above, performs rework, touch-up, stripping, patching, masking, sanding, priming, surfacing and sealing. Is required to work in spray booths maintaining quality and production standards. May occasionally instruct lower classified employees in painting processes.
Uses drawings, ADCN’s, work orders, process manuals and other specifications. Uses arithmetic involving decimals and fractions. Records and maintains data of daily paint or other such usage.

Responsibilities:Performs duties of support to Final Line paint & process area. Operates material handling equipment as required to support shipment needs. Reports to the supervisor of Paint & Process of Final Assembly
