Payroll Administrator
Science & Engineering Services, Inc. (SESI) is an established, rapidly growing research, development, and manufacturing firm headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, with sites in Huntsville, Alabama and Fort Knox, Kentucky.

SESI is energetically seeking a Payroll Administrator to support our Accounting division with payroll-related tasks (taxes, filings, garnishments, etc.)
Our Payroll Admin will: Process payroll data using Deltek's Costpoint and Time Collection systems Set up new employees and update changes in CostpointVerify weekly timesheets; review labor hours Prepare weekly management labor utilization reports using Impromptu and ExcelWork with Accountants on labor reclassification and correctionsMaintain labor suspense accounts Distribute labor and payroll related reports Enter payable vouchers in Costpoint for all tax payments, garnishments, etc Coordinate federal and state filings, employee inquiriesPerform year-end reconciliations on all payroll related accountsApply knowledge of company policy as well as knowledge of wage and hour laws in the processing of and computation of regular pay, salaried versus hourly pay, leave (including FMLA, disability leave, military leave, jury duty, etc.), and overtimeCoordinate the following benefit programs in accordance with IRS guidelines: 401(k) and Flexible Spending Accounts. Work with HR regarding payroll-related aspects of employees’ issues. Enter, verify, and post cash receipts in Costpoint to create weekly Cash flow report in Excel using Costpoint G/L accounts.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus two (2) years of payroll experience in government-contracting environment preferred. Proficiency in MS Office applications. Experience with Costpoint is strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Strong organizational and verbal skills. Ability to work well with all classifications of employees.Maintain attention to detail while meeting tight deadlines. Dependability is essential.
