Performance Engineer

Independently performs aircraft/rotor-craft and propulsion systems analysis and performance predictions using conventional practices and methods to satisfy an overall set of requirements.  Understands system level issues related to aircraft/rotor-craft and/or aircraft engine design, performance, and operation. Assesses feasibility of new/derivative concepts and supports preliminary design.  Supports resolution of system-level issues requiring understanding of aircraft/rotor-craft and/or aircraft engine performance.  Balances complex or conflicting requirements using sound engineering judgment.  Provides technical support of and coordination with product design and support teams.  Represents aircraft/rotor-craft and/or aircraft engine performance function on Integrated  Product Team (IPT).  Publishes technical reports and conducts technical presentations of engineering analysis and results to customers, both internal and external to Rolls-Royce.

BSME, BSAE or equivalent college degree with major in engineering, science, or mathematics. 5-7 years experience in aircraft or aircraft engine design/development; or MS degree and 3-5 years experience  Background or demonstrated expertise in aircraft/rotor-craft and/or aircraft engine performance, sizing and/or preliminary design analysis.  Knowledge of computer programming using FORTRAN, Visual Basic, and/or C++. Proficiency in written and oral communication using the English language.  Demonstrated ability to operate independently and in team environment.
