Principal Engineer Scientist - AFRL Battelle has been solving the toughest technical challenges for 75 years. Battelle's National Security Division is seeking a Principal Engineer Scientist for a full time position with experience in design and developing structural protection for building and vehicle usage to work within the Air Force Research laboratory at Tyndall AFB, Panama City, Florida. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. A full benefits package including health, dental, vision and life insurance, 401k, pension plan, and tuition reimbursement will be provided. Relocation support is not available. The selected candidate will work on Tyndall AFB in Panama City, Florida. Primary job responsibilities will include: - Responsibility for design and developing structural protection for building and vehicle usage. - Responsible for technology development; program management, technologies integration; risk management analysis and manage appropriated risk mitigation teams; and technical reviews. - Will draft concept/prototype development of precision mechanical units, program master plans, Risk management plans, cost estimates and other documentation. Additionally, the selected candidate will be expected to travel within the United States. Candidate resumes must demonstrate the following minimum requirements in order to be forwarded for consideration: - Ph.D. degree in engineering, physics or related sciences. - Ten years technical research experience in Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Material Science, Explosives engineering or Physics and has been an Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead or sub-IPT lead.
